Sony has announced the release of the new upcoming Sony NGP. It's a new game console that will surely blow us away. In the meantime, let's take a look at its predecessor, Sony PSP. There are many things you can do with your Sony PSP, one of them is play homebrew games and run all the cool homebrew applications on it. How to do that? Look no further, this article will guide even the most inept PSP user to be running homebrew in no time. To run homebrew on your PSP you will need to know which "firmware" version installed to your PSP. If you don't know which version you have, go to Settings then System Settings and System Information and you will see: your firmware version. If you have anywhere from 1.00 to 4.01, you will be able to play homebrew/downgrade.
For Those Who Have:
Firmware 3.51 to 4.01 - You currently can't run Homebrew or Downgrade Unless you have a Pandora Memory stick/Battery.
Firmware 3.10 to 3.50 - For those who have a PSP with version 3.10 through 3.50 firmware, you will find the option of downgrading to at least 1.5.
Firmware 2.81 to 3.03 - For those who have a PSP with version 5.81 or greater firmware, you will find the option of utilizing Homebrew by improving to 3.03 and taking advantage of 3.03 Hen.
